Art of Winter is anchored each year in a series of snow-inspired exhibits featuring the works of Colorado artists, athletes and entrepreneurs, expressing their passion and creativity through their chosen craft.
On Display at Larimer Square, Jan 25 – Feb 28. The Upcycled Art Exhibited debuted at the inaugural Art of Winter on Larimer Square in January 2011, and remains an anticipated annual exhibit of Art of Winter. The pieces featured in the Upcycled Art exhibit are created by Colorado artists on non-traditional canvasses of recycled snowboards.
Colorado’s independent ski and snowboard companies are at the forefront of a growing national community of small-batch, snow-inspired manufacturers. Their work combines art, design, technology, passion and grit. They love their work and it’s reflected in the skis and snowboards they produce. On display Jan 22-Feb 1, at Crave Coffee and Dessert Bar (891 14th Street – Denver).
An extension of the Larimer upcycled Art Gallery as well as a featured exhibit of the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships “tools of the trade” display featuring the equipment of Lindsey Vonn, Mikaela Shiffrin and Ted Ligety.
